Spring Fling

It’s time to start thinking pink..in the season of sunny skies, fresh blooming flowers and glorious sun showers a few hovering clouds is not enough to rain on the pink parade!

First making a splash in Winter, the very vibrant and youthful energy colour palette is back and pink comes in just about anything. Trans-seasonal dressing always presents a challenge however you can’t put a foot wrong this season  setting the tone for your Spring Wardrobe.

Oozing pretty and feminine vibes, a pink linen top is the simplest and fastest way to bring your wardrobe right up to date.

In this weeks blogpost, I’ve put together an extrememly low key look yet added a pop of pink to take the outfit to the next level. An ideal ensemble for weekends and anything in between, this look doesn’t require an invite to anything but rather makes an effortless statement.

As you may have noticed pops of colour and pastels prints are popping up again this season in our favourite boutiques. H & M started introducing pink blouses earlier this Winter and Decjuba have showcased the best in pastel purples and lime green sweaters.

The top that I am wearing is from Country Road and is a linen blend, with long sleeves and a ribbed cuff. When looking to select a pink piece be sure to opt for either a 3/4 or long sleeve just so you can get more wear out of the top, as Spring can be both cool and warm at the same time.

Next, look to your everyday wardrobe favourites to team with the bright hue. In keeping the look lighter, I opted for a pair of light denim jeans to pair with pink and added a statement belt for interest.

There are literally no rules when it comes to trans-seasonal dressing, however do keep lighter shades in mind and leave the darker palettes for Winter.

Finish off your look with some tan accessories and instead of wearing my usual sneakers I opted for a tan loafer instead.

Having teamed sneakers lately with just about everything it was time to switch it up and revert back to a classic loafer shoe for a change. Add a tan bag and some pink wrist candy and your first look of Spring is complete!
