A new year is upon us, goodbye to 2019 and hello to the 20’s. The promise of a new decade of exciting and unpredictable fashion trends to look forward to, that will have us on the edge of our seats in anticipation!
New years and Christmas came and went, as did the sequins and the sparkly party wardrobe. As we enter into January, it’s time to fix our focus on fuchsia!
In this first blog post for 2020, I’ve put together an eye popping uber stylish Summer look that will have you standing out for the right reasons. The effortless appeal of a Summer linen shirt is high on my must-have list right now.
Ideal for all temperatures and high in style, the fuchsia shirt is Summer’s equivalent to Winter’s white button down shirt. The Blake Balloon fuchsia shirt that I am wearing is available from Decubja (instore) and is crafted from a Linen fabric.
Perfect for the warmer season, the relaxed fitting shirt owns feminine edge and the balloon sleeves add a perfect amount of detail to the shirt. The metallic gold buttons provide a flawless finish.
When styling a long sleeve shirt in Summer, my biggest tip is to roll the cuffs up on your shirt to make it season appropriate (this will also lighten up your look). Next, most shirts are usually long in length, however to give this look an edge that will compliment your shorts, tie the shirt at the end into a bow.
In keeping with a Summer themed outfit, I opted to team my shirt with a pair of high-waisted white denim shorts. (shorts available from H & M).
The style of shorts compliments the shirt very well as the high-waist allows for the shirt to be tied and sits in proportion with the shorts.
If you don’t own a denim white short, then plenty of the other alternatives/fabrics will work such as linen, cotton, polyester. White works best paired against pink and the combination of the two bright hues spells Summer.
Introduce splashes of tan accessories to elevate your look. The tan sandals that I am wearing are available from Kookai.
The gladiator inspired silhouette features contrasting leather straping allowing you to tie lace up the sandals as high or low as you like. Finish off your look with a tan bag and some jewellery and your look is complete!
