Romantic, whimsical, enchanting and yet subtly seductive…It’s time to think pink! From dusty muted shades to the millennial eye-popping tones, pink is Spring 18’s version of Winter’s red just as the playsuit is the new LBD (little black dress).
Leave behind the cold rainy Winter days and put a Spring in your step with some new season blush pieces to amp up your wardrobe! In this week’s blog post, I’ll show you how to style your blush pink pieces and what to team with the playsuit to give it a twist, and develop your own signature look.
This playsuit that I am wearing in the images is available from (Dotti), as you will notice the style of pant are culottes which actually give the piece a lot of interest and there is more fabric to work with. This particular playsuit consists of a combination of shell and polyester fabric, it features a padded bodice, shiring at the back, detachable straps, exposed back zip and side pockets.
The effortless fit of the playsuit will suit a wide range of body types, as the looser culotte’ leg allows for more movement, rather than something that is too tight. The strapless sweet-heart neckline provides a very polished finish and the waist belt ad’s detail without being too over-powering.
Contrary to the pro’s and con’s often associated with the playsuit/jumpsuit , this particular style out weights all the con’s and puts to rest any concerns you might have. The cut of the jumpsuit is very flattering and the back zip brings everything together. As mentioned above the culotte leg adds movement which therefor creates definition.
For Spring, the playsuit is the perfect wardrobe investment giving a whole new meaning to the word ‘milleage’ Flirtier than a full-pant jumpsuit, this piece makes the perfect partner for layering and styling to your lifestyle. Depending on the occasion, there are so many ways to alter and change the look of a playsuit with a few styling tricks.
For example, for a more casual look, try wearing sneakers and tying a denim jacket around your waist for a street-infused look. Or if you wanted to wear this piece to a formal lunch, then add a cropped white ¾ sleeve blazer over the top and pair a stylish pump with the look.
When putting together this look, I opted to team a chain cross-body bag draped across the body for a touch of street-style. As you will also notice I wore quite a bit of arm candy, consisting of both bracelets and watches. The extra pieces really help to add another element to your look and don’t detract.
Just remember when your looking to invest in this trend, blush pink doesn’t discriminate! It will suit almost every complexion and it’s not just a ‘blonde’ shade nor just a brunette shade.
Blush pink looks just as great against a fresh tan for extra pop as it does on fair skin which can give a soft porcelain finish. It’s an extremely versatile shade which looks great teamed with both bold and minimalist accessories. The next time your looking to invest in a new trend, why not try blush pink!
