Elevate your off-duty wardrobe with a pair of slouchy, chambray harem pants. A stylish alternative to a classic jean and not to mention being infinitely more comfortable, the chambray harem pant is making a comeback for the Spring/Summer season. The perfect trans-seasonal piece to take you right through to the warmer months, the harem pant is lighter in fabric and fits loosely on the body, making it easy to wear all day. In this week’s post, I’ll break down the look that I am wearing and give you some styling tips as to how to work the harem pant into your wardrobe.
When looking to invest in a pair of harem pants, be open to trying on a range of different styles as each will slightly differ in fit. The pair that I am wearing is available from Seed and features an elasticised drawstring waistband which makes for an easy, comfortable fit.
Not as dramatic as an over-the-top drop crotch pant (as they can just be too hard to pull off) this particular style features a subtle slouch and is more reminiscent of a Capri pant.
When determining what shade of colour to opt for, consider what will compliment the existing pieces in your wardrobe. I chose a light chambray shade, as it’s a much needed change from my go-to black denim jeans.
For a high-street look, I teamed this black cropped printed Kookai tee with the harem pants for a chic luxe finish. The combination of the high-waisted pants and cropped printed tee, results in a serious edgy look.
There are really no rules when it comes to pairing tops with harem pants, so be creative and change up your tops for different looks.
Off-the-shoulder styles work really well and can look instantly on-trend. Another alternative for a Parisian chic look, is to introduce a white linen shirt teamed with a pair of loafers.
Finish off the look by pairing an open-toed boot with the harem pants for extra impact. I opted for boots with a stiletto heel, however, for a flat alternative a pair of white sneakers will also work well for a slightly more casual vibe.
Harem pants offer endless versatility and can be complimented by a variety of shoes.
As the warmer weather approaches, even consider introducing a hat and pair of aviators for Insta worthy outfit inspo!
