Muse Views: Go-To Cafes’ in Perth

As you may be aware, one of my daily routines consists of stopping for a cup of coffee, whether it’s enjoyed at breakfast, lunch, or as a guilty indulgence. Whilst it would be literally impossible to narrow down ALL my favourite coffee spots in Perth, I compiled a list of my regular ‘go-to’ cafes, which all offer something unique, whether you’re ordering a skinny latte to-go, a stack of banoffee pancakes or an avocado smash, these cafes have your every need sorted.

La Veen Coffee & Kitchen, 90 King St Perth

Nestled on the corner of Wellington and King Street, this tucked away gem regularly makes it on to my ‘weekly’ visit. More often than not, if I find myself in the city mid-week I pop in to recharge and refuel, then pull out my laptop and start working. With a menu to make your head swirl with choices, I order my faithfull Avocado Smash accompanied with a Cokespresski for an extra boost (Coke & Coffee is one sure way to recharge the batteries).

What’s special about La Veen aside from the food, is that it’s open 7 days a week, so by the time the weekend comes around, get together a group of friends and experience one of the most coolest brunch spots. Just remember girls, the Saturday crowd is extra cool, so think about teaming a pair of white sneakers with ripped jeans and a slogan tee for effortless style and for the guys, jogger pants, teamed with a striped tee and sneakers is best.

Mrs S, 487 Beaufort Street, HighGate

The younger sister to the Maylands original Mrs S, Mrs S Highgate opened earlier this year and has already continued on with the success from her sibling. Mrs S could be described as the unofficial cool kid on the Beaufort street strip, from the eclectic, rustic décor to the menus bounded into children’s story books (yep, gotta see it to believe it)!

The menu is nothing short of deliciously creative dishes and if you keep an eye on the counter you will see a whole range of signature Mrs S  sweets. A perfect meeting place for coffee-catchups and an unassuming spot ideal for perhaps meeting a potential interest, the vibe of Mrs S is relaxed and chilled. Plus the novelty of the story book menus are always a great conversation starter.

Architects & Heroes, 25 Rokeby Road Subiaco

Arriving on the scene in 2014, Architects & Heroes quickly become the DNA of Subiaco and I now couldn’t imagine Rokeby road without it. Serving some of the best coffee in Perth, it’s little wonder why this place is non-stop happening! Aside from the coffee, the variety of dishes that I have tried since the beginning have been nothing short of creative, delicious and was likely responsible for some of the most popular Instagram food hashtags. One of the most central and popular locations for coffee catch-ups with co-workers, breakfast with your bestie and  afternoon pick-me ups.

TiIsch Cafe Bistro, 9b/938 Hay St, Perth

Situated on the corner of Milligan and Hay Street, Tiisch is relatively new to the Perth scene and if Instgram pictures were anything to go by, it certainly lived up to it’s picturesque décor. With bright white walls and indoor greenery, it is one of the most visually captivating cafes in Perth. Aside from décor, the coffee and food are delicious with an array of choices on the menu, this is one of those places that you will need to visit again and…again.

1982 Espresso, 55 Rokeby Road Subiaco

More than just a coffee ‘stop-in’, 1982 Espresso  has it’s own unique identity making it a staple on the Subiaco coffee strip. From the exquisite, chic décor inside (as seen on cover photo) to the option of both indoor and outdoor seating, this café is ideal when taking your time to peruse the latest issue of Vogue, sipping on a latte watching the world go by. With a wide range of meals available on the menu and a glass cabinet full of delicious and indulgent treats, this is definitely one of my favourite Subiaco spots (yep, now you will know where to find me).

    • Too true Jenelle, I still feel like there are so many places that I left out, but almost impossible to include everything. Perth definitely has grown a lot stronger in the cafe game, making it harder for us to decide where to go! haha:)) Have a great weekend!
