Distressed Denim

Season after season ripped jeans keep making an appearance, whether it be in the form of light denim distressed jeans or a boyfriend style, these wardrobe staples aren’t going anywhere. If you’re in need of an update or own enough pairs to warrant a large collection, then give your jeans a fresh take with some sleek styling tips.

If you’re recreating this look from scratch then I suggest to start by investing in a pair of black skinny distressed jeans. By opting for black, it will give you  lots of options in terms of different looks and will compliment the existing pieces in your wardrobe. The pair I am wearing are from Bohoo and are available online at boohoo.com.

A great styling tip for those of you who a looking to update your existing denim collection is to introduce a longline cardigan with your jeans for instant on-trend style. The long-line cardigan is having an  ‘IT” moment’ this season and will prove to be a great addition to your wardrobe.

Brands such as ForeverNew, Bardot & Asos all offer a wide selection of cardigans, varying in price and style. (The cardigan that I am wearing in the images is from ForeverNew). Depending on the colour palette in your wardrobe, I suggest opting for a beige or grey cardigan, as both offer lots of versatility.

When it came to finishing off my look with shoes and accessories, I decided to opt for a flat ankle boot to give my outfit an edgy vibe. By stepping out of my comfort zone and steering away from wearing heels, I am able to create a fresh new look and introduce some variety into my wardrobe. Finally complete your look with a tan bucket bag for an effortless finish, if you don’t own a bucket bag then try other styles such as a cross-body bag or a messenger bag.
